LPN to RN Bridge Course

License Practical Nurses experience certain challenges in their career. As much as they would want to do more for a patient, their skills are limited. LPN’s are trained and educated to be bedside nurses in the hospitals. They assist the registered nurses and physicians on taking care of the patient. LPNs are mostly limited to  basic patient care, administering medications, wound care and some basic nursing assessment with the intervention of RNs and physicians.

Today, the work of an LPN involves more than bedside care and paper work. While the role of LPNs gives them limitation in performing patient care, there are opportunities for LPN to advance in their field.

LPN RN bridge is a course designed to assist Licensed Practical Nurses in the transition of their role into Registered Nurses. LPNs who get into this course will get the opportunity to further their skills and knowledge. This serves as a stepladder for them to be trained and learn more. They can advance in their field with more understanding of the human body. LPN RN bridge programs vary from one school to another. They will be trained to conduct patient assessment and  care planning. as well as advance pharmacology, pathology and physiology.

LPN to RN bridge programs are structured on LPNs’ knowledge which they have gained from their experience. They will be offered credit for LPN education or working experience. LPNs take test on certain subjects. If they obtained a high score in that particular subject, they will be given credit even without them taking the class. As stated earlier, LPN to RN bridge courses vary from one school to another. There are also  online schools that offer LPN to RN programs. This provides a flexible option for LPNs. Be  sure to look at the educational requirements or if there are any prerequisites for the program.

LPN to RN Bridge Programs

An LPN to RN bridge program is really a degree program that can help students move from being Licensed Practical Nurses to acquiring their Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Once this requirement is met, enrolling to have an LPN to RN bridge program allows students to pursue their BSN within four years, sometimes less. Obtaining a BSN will enable individuals to become an authorized Nurse (RN). Since getting a bachelor’s degree in nursing isn’t a specific requirement of becoming an RN, the advanced education will open new job possibilities. Furthermore, it can lead to significant salary increases.

Like an LPN, you are able to strengthen your abilities and get ready for a wider area of career possibilities by continuing your education and attaining a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN). The LPN to RN bridge program follows exactly the same academic plan and needs like a traditional BSN program. A LPN to RN bridge program enables you to definitely receive full credit for those courses taken in the LPN program. Many schools require students to obtain their LPN before being accepted in to the program.

To be able to sign up for LPN to RN bridge program, you have to be a licensed LPN or LVN. Students must have a high school diploma or GED and become presently employed as an LPN. Some programs require an associate’s degree in nursing. Admission needs may also incorporate a nursing entrance exam, CPR certification or perhaps a criminal record check. Programs could be carried out in 4 years. An earlier associate’s degree lessens the time required to accomplish a BSN program. Most courses can be found online, even though clinical component is generally on-site. Many nurses begin their careers as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) or Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) but to succeed, they require more education.

Distance Learning Systems – Tapping into Technology

Distance Learning Systems is a new method of learning made possible by technology and the internet. It allows you to get a degree or specialized education through the internet. This is one of the ways that technology has evolved our day to day activities to add convenience to our lifestyle.

Years ago, in order to enjoy working in any professional field, you needed to have money, time, and enough energy to complete the training. At that time, you could not afford to not work or even find work. Today, thanks to Distance Learning Systems, you can get the same education in the comfort of your own home.

In order to enter in the medical field for example, to become a Respiratory Therapist, Paramedic or an LPN, you needed more than just a computer and internet. Today, you can get formal nursing education online. RN classes are one of the most popular educations you can get online. Practical education may be scheduled in a qualified location, and this will be the only travel you’ll need to do. You will be given credit by exam and get your license when you pass the test.

This amount of flexibility is one of the advantages of Distance Learning Systems. Instead of going to a traditional classroom, you enter a virtual classroom with videos, reading material and other interactive resources. This is ideal for different types of learners. Because you are not confined in a single medium, you can read, watch a video, or listen to an audio file, whichever is more effective for you.

If there is a downside to Distance Learning Systems, it would be the fact that you need to be responsible for yourself. You have freedom when it comes to time or studying; success will depend completely on your dedication.

Distance Learning Systems does not merely teach you skills you need to start a new career, it also trains you to be responsible, dedicated and pro-active.

RN Online Video Classes from the comfort of your own home

There is not much difference between a traditional, classroom-based course and an online course. Both types of courses have definitive start and end dates. Our course tutorials range from 4 weeks to 10 weeks depending on the course and content that you need to cover to satisfactorily prepare for the exam. You will do many of the same activities online that you would do in a traditional class — read texts, take notes, ask questions, write papers (especially in English Comp), and have discussions. All the class discussions and materials are delivered to you online.

The significant difference between the two types of classes is that, instead of meeting in a classroom at a specific time each week throughout the course, you, your classmates and your tutor will be connected by DLSI’s system, video class, servers, and your personal computer via the Internet. You do not have to “go” to your online class at a scheduled time each week. If your schedule conflicts with the live lecture time, a recorded version will be available for you to view. Instructors respond to questions outside of class with in 48 hours throughout the week. You can even take a tour of the online classroom before you enroll! If you are interested in enrolling or want more information about how you can become an RN through our online video classes, please contact a Regional Program Administrator at 888-955-3276. You can also watch our YouTube Videos for more information!
