What does Distance Learning Systems™ Do?
Distance Learning Systems™ provides online instructor-led general education courses that are ACE CREDIT® recommended and can transfer to 2,000+ colleges and universities.
What will I get if I purchase a course?
If you purchase a course from Distance Learning Systems™, you will have access to all of the features and content you need to be successful for that specific course. If you successfully pass the course with a grade of 70 or higher, you will be eligible to receive an official transcript from the American Council on Education’s (ACE) Transcript Service. Your credits are guaranteed to transfer to one of our partner colleges and universities. More than 2,000 other colleges and universities also consider ACE recommended credits for transfer.
When will I have access to the lectures and assignments?
You will have access to lectures, your instructor, e-books. extra resources, quizzes and assignments as soon as you enroll in a course. You will then get access to each week’s material the Friday before the week starts.
What if I need more time in the course?
Not a problem – we have options to allow you more time with material. Our academic advisors will be happy to have a conversation with you to find the best option to meet your needs.
What if I do not pass the course?
We take your success very seriously and ensure you will have access to all of the resources needed to help you be successful, but in the rare case you happen to fail a course, we do have a retake policy in place:
- Retake Policy:
If an individual fails a course, they may not repeat a course of the same title within 30 (thirty) days from the time they completed the final exam. If an individual violates the Distance Learning Systems™ retake policy, the course score will be considered invalid, their score will be canceled, and any course fee will be forfeited. The individual should plan to retake the course between 30 (thirty) and 90 (ninety) days from the initial course ending. If the individual has any questions regarding the retake policy, he or she should talk to an academic advisor by calling 888-955-3276 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

What is your attendance policy?
- Individual attendance in Distance Learning Systems™ online courses is defined as active participation in the course, as described by an individual logging into the course at least 1-3 times a week to complete the following: lecture, weekly activities, weekly assignments, weekly quizzes, etc. In a distance education context, documenting that an individual has logged into an online class is not sufficient, by itself, to demonstrate academic attendance by the individual. Success in a course is dependent on an individual’s active participation and engagement throughout the course. As such, individuals are required to complete all assignments by their stated deadlines.
- Distance Learning Systems™ staff and instructors are able to monitor an individual’s activity in the online class and may check the activity at any given time without an individual’s permission. Academic-related activities are readily tracked and documented through Distance Learning Systems’ learning management system and email system.
- If an individual were to fail a course, the individual’s activity will be examined to ensure the stated attendance policy was followed, which facilitates individual success in the course. The individual will be held accountable to their commitment level to the course. The Refund Policy and Guarantee are based of said attendance policy. If the individual does not meet the attendance policy, the refund and guarantee is null and void and will not be honored.
- In case of an emergency (illness/accident or death in the family), an individual should contact the instructor as soon as possible, providing documentation supporting the need for any late submission of a graded event.

Once a course-for-credit is completed through Distance Learning Systems™, you will be eligible to receive an ACE transcript for credit transfer purposes. Over 2,000 colleges and universities observe ACE CREDIT recommendations. This does not apply to any credit-by-exam where credit is given by the exam organization.

What are the costs and is there financial assistance?
Our programs are very affordable when compared to classes taken at traditional college campuses. Your program cost will depend on the number of courses that are required to complete the degree you seek. Individuals can use either their own financial institutions or ours. We provide guaranteed financing for the cost of your program.
