The courses for Credit-By-Course offered through Distance Learning Systems™ are similar to a traditional college course with graded assessments and exams throughout the course to go toward an accumulative score (70% or higher to receive passing credit). These courses are subject to an intensive quality review process. The American Council on Education’s College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT®) has evaluated and recommended college credit for 15 of Distance Learning Systems’ courses. ACE CREDIT helps adults gain academic credit for courses and examinations taken outside traditional degree programs. More than 2,000 colleges and universities consider ACE CREDIT recommendations in determining the applicability of coursework and examination results to their courses and degree programs. When you complete a Distance Learning Systems™ Credit-By-Course, transferring your credits is easy. Our Academic Support team can help you with transferring your credits.

Number of ACE CREDIT Recommended courses accepted for credit varies based on college and degree.

The courses for Credit-By-Exam offered through Distance Learning Systems™ prepare individuals to earn college credits without attending a traditional college class but by simply completing our preparation course and then passing one nationally standardized exam for the award of credit. Each Credit-By-Exam DLSI™ course is structured with weekly content that includes practice quizzes and a final exam. CLEP®, DSST® and PersonVue® offer standardized exams in place of traditional courses which award credits that can be transferred toward earning a degree from 2,900 U.S. colleges and universities. Individuals are responsible for scheduling and paying for their own exams and full course credits will be awarded upon passing the nationally standardized exam.
